Simple practices that made this journey feel a little easier.
Pregnancy is a unique journey for every mama, and finding the right practices to support your body and mind can make all the difference. Below are some local recommendations that have worked beautifully for me — though many of these ideas can also inspire ways to find similar support in your own area during pregnancy.
Pregnancy is such a beautiful, challenging, and transformative time. No two experiences are the same — and what works for one mama might not for another. I wanted to share a few things that have truly helped me feel more comfortable, supported, and grounded throughout this season.
If you’re navigating pregnancy right now, I hope a few of these ideas bring you some ease too. 💛
1. Pelvic Floor Therapy

One of the best decisions I made this pregnancy was visiting a pelvic floor therapist. Working with Uplift Pelvic Health & Performance has made such a difference in managing pelvic and overall pregnancy discomfort. Pelvic floor therapy helps with posture, alignment, and even preparing your body for labor and recovery afterward.
2. Chiropractic Care

I can’t say enough good things about prenatal chiropractic care. Revive Chiropractic has been a lifesaver — even squeezing me in for same-day appointments during tough weeks! Regular adjustments have helped ease tension, improve alignment, and support better sleep.
3. Acupuncture

Acupuncture has been another incredible support throughout my pregnancy journey. My original acupuncturist, the amazing Dr. Claudia Harsh, is now retired, but I highly recommend checking out IShine Yoga. Their wellness team offers acupuncture and other holistic services to nurture body and mind.
4. Prenatal Massage

For deep relaxation and tension relief, Amy Hamilton Massage creates a peaceful and comforting experience. Massage helps with circulation, swelling, and back pain — and gives you a moment to slow down and connect with your body.
5. Reading + Birth Education

Knowledge truly is power when it comes to pregnancy and birth. I loved taking a Harmonious Birth Class with Jessica Bieber with my first pregnancy and have been loving the online birthing course available from Ally Raven Doula. I’ve also enjoyed Labor Like a Goddess, exploring hypnobirthing, and watching positive birth stories on YouTube. Having Lake Norman Doula by my side this time has felt so grounding and empowering, helping me understand the different tools and options for birth
6. Prenatal Yoga

Movement has been essential for keeping my body comfortable and mind calm. I filmed a pregnancy-friendly yoga flow for hips you can find on my YouTube channel. 💛
P.S. Local to Huntersville? Join in-person prenatal yoga Wednesdays at 6 PM at Ishine Yoga!
7. Walking

Walking during pregnancy boosts energy, improves circulation, and eases stress. Even short walks can lift your mood and help your body prepare for labor.
Pregnancy is different for everyone. These are just a few practices that supported me physically, mentally, and emotionally. Even choosing one or two can make a big difference. You deserve to feel supported and grounded as you move through this season. 💛
